Second Hand Treasures!

It's a Saturday morning...7am...Grandma, me, and my older sister Jessie are loading up in the car. It's going to be a long day. There's a few specific neighborhoods we've got to hit, then it's off driving around looking for that unmistakable sign....Yard Sale! Moving Sale! Garage Sale! Neighborhood Sale! Church Sale! I've been looking forward to this all week! I wonder what "treasures" we'll find today. After the sales, we'll go to the flea market, then maybe hit the thrift stores like Goodwill and Salvation Army. I just love Saturdays with Grandma....both Grandmas actually.

I miss those days with Grandma Jean and Grandma Ann. We spent a lot of time treasure hunting and finding great things....like vintage crackle glass, books, clothing, dolls, train sets, costume jewelry, decorative plates, and much much more. Grandma Jean is a collector and Grandma Ann was an antique dealer and collector. From a very young age I had a fondness for all things vintage, bargain hunting, and even selling used possessions. I used to love helping Grandma Ann with her "yard sales"...that regular collectors and dealers always came to and Grandma would rake in around $2000!

So here I am, many years later, and I still go out hunting on Saturdays...searching for anything really. Sometimes I have something in particular I'm looking for and sometimes I just go and see what catches my eye! Sometimes I keep what I find and sometimes I sell it....continuing the second hand cycle. So here's just a few of my awesome finds! May you find inspiration and go treasure hunting yourself.
